where are you all gettin your turbos???

im lookin at the hx40 for an upgrade. got pump mods and experiencing turbo chatter. where are you all gettin yours at? and its a t4 flange correct? whats the best turbo setup for towin? thanks, jayare

The stock turbo is a t3. There are both t3 and t4 flanged hx40's as well as several diffrent wheel sizes. I get my turbos through work. We are dealers for holset and borg warner.

whats the good combo on wheels sizes and housing size? and what does one cost? thanks for the help. jayare

That depends on your power goal, your fueling, and the uses for your truck.

its a dd and used on the farm. tows a bit.i really dont know the hp level i would like to be. as of now its p-pumped, self cut pin,screw turned.timin bump. and like i said im gettin turbo chatter.and it as a5 speed so i would like quicker spool.. thanks jayare

I would like one of these p pumps with fuel screws lol. That one lost me slightly.
92 w250, NV4500, D80, maxed pump, AFC gone, extended fuel screw, more to come.

Sure it's not a VE rotary pump?
Everything after "..it's p-pumped..." sounds suspiciously "VE-ish" to me. :lol:

sorry, talkin about the lift pump. its 2cd gen piston pump with fpr.i dont really know the power i want. i want good power to pull and keep the egts down.

A PDR Super 40 with a 16cm housing (Not that I have any actual experience with one) would be an excellent towing turbo for the money.(1000ish new)Not the fastest spooling unit,but that isn't as important as exhaust flow for keeping temps down. Assuming that you have gauges,if not you should at LEAST get a pyrometer. It would help if you filled out your sig. (year,model,auto or manual,modifications,etc)

'90 W250 R/C,47rh,K@N,HX35,1/8" bump,2nd gen IC,boost,egt,trans temp.3.07's.
