IP internal pressure

Postby oldestof11 » Fri Dec 25, 2009 7:02 pm

Ok, I need info on a couple of things but to do that, I need some VE IP info. I might try a few things with my spare IP....

1: What makes the IP internal pressure build up? Is it that little vane pump?

2: At what INTERNAL (not inlet pressure) does the case crack at?

3: Whats the minimum internal pressure needed to keep the IP running?

This has something to do with a delete and one of these puppies....

And what injectors do I need? 6x12's?

Answer that I know, is that the internal or case pressure is built up by the vane pump, and vented, or regulated by the return. If the vane pump were eliminated though, case pressure would be directed at the front seal.
As far as I can tell, the limit is in the fill passage in the head, that leads to the front of the rotor (and possibly the passages out to the dv,s) not elsewhere.

1. yes
2. 300psi+ (ive ran mine up to 300psi and it works fine)
3. aprox. 50psi
you would have to regulate it, but it would work, but max inlet pressure should be no more then 60psi, so its over kill.

Injectors depend on what other mods you have

I am going to build the mods around the injection pump.

I notice that the passages can be enlarged some.... Gonna get a machine shop I used to work at to make them 25% to 50% larger.......
