3 for free air ?

Postby BC.livewire » Mon Jun 28, 2010 4:23 pm

ok I have a intercooled 91 with 5speed and I'm thinking of the best ways to get free air

I so happen to have 2 free VGT turbos sitting hear wating to be use

yes yes I know that most guys that run twins start off with huge turbos but I'm thinking keeping the stock turbo as the prymairy-- furst turbo off the manifold --- than run the 2 VGT's as sencendairys

I would add a exturnall wastegate from the manifold feeding the vgt's and would be looking for 50psi max

tell me what you think good or bad

Which vgt turbo is it? If its hte he351ve or the 431 either will do great as a single. I have been toying with the idea of my 351 and a 551 twin set up running vgt on both, I just think it would take a long time to tune it.

as far as I know they are the smaller 351

wow that is a more possative ancer --- good that means I'm lurning moer about this commins motor

well my thinking is that thes 3 turbos are what I have

and the stock turbo has a huge hot side " that is why everyone upgrades to a smaller snail with a inturnall wastegate "

so I'm thinking to what oversized turbo but preboost the ait going into it

I want to do real twins on my truck. Split the manifold and put 2 VGT's on it...

been doing more reading

my turbo has the larg 21mm exhoust snail so if I add a larger 61mm intake snail that I can get for $250ish --- this would make a good sized hybred turbo

than I could use one og the VGT turbo (just one turbo) as the primairy ( the turbo mounted to the exhoust manifold ) --- this use the now hybred turbo as the sencendaity

The 60mm upgrade is ok for mild mods. You would be better off getting a s400 for a couple hundred more.
