Care to elaborate on what happened?[/quote]

Soot builds up on the vanes if not used heavily over the cource of a few weeks, then the vanes started to bind, then crunch.

This could be caused by DPF related things, but wither way, was told that many of the early turbos that could not be cleaned before breakage, were just sold off on places like ebay. :(

the computerized little motor was not strong enef on the furst batch of turbos

if they owner ran the truck hard he never had aney carbon build up so no issues with the turbo

but 80% owners of new $45,000 trucks do not beet on them enenf to burn the carbon off so all turbos ware replaced under wornty from halset

the 2 turbos I have spin freeley and the "VE" part of the turbo works just fine --- just remove the computerized part and install a commen wastegate acshuator

If your seeing 1200 degrees on 'decent hills' in ontario your gonna want to have your fuel pin turned to the shallow side by the time you hit the crowsnest pass in alberta...I live between two of the big passes in the kootenays and I pretty much keep my fuel pin on the shallow side with my stock turbo..I've had smaller exhaust housings, but I find for going a decent speed up the mountain passes the 18cm is where its at for me...with my camper its 4th gear the whole way up, 2600rpm, empty i can run 5th at around 1200deg (130kph), 2400 rpm, I dont like to have to go slower just because Im overfueled 8)...where ya goin?
