What do you guys think?????

Postby Bad93Cummins » Fri Jul 16, 2010 8:09 pm

As most of you know I sadly bought a powerstroke because I needed 4wd so I had to get rid of my slightly build 93 cummins. Well have an opertunitty to get a 1st gen cummins agiain. Guy wants to trade it for my ford powerstroke.

1990 Dodge w350 single cab long bed 5.9 Cummins with DDp 30hp injectors, turned up pump, stock exhuast to dual 5" exhuast from the cab back, 11.00x16 militarys(40" tall), lockers front/rear, 727 auto built with quote " billit input and output shafts billit valve body and triple disk billet torque converter from south bend", say's tranny shifts hard(he bought it already built up), fresh paint job, drove it 1100 miles without a problem. All lights and gauges work. 190,000 miles(but changes as its his DD), get's about 500 miles to a tank, nothing's rigged up. Just needs t-case lineage tightened up, headliner and the a/c don't blow cold.

for my

1994.5 Ford F350 7.3 powerstroke 5 speed 4x4, Stage 2 injectors(160cc with 100% nozzles), 6637 intake, 3" DP to 4" striaght, TS performance 6 pos chip(stock, hi idle, 50,75,100, 140 extreme), autometer C2 series boost/pyro with autometer double pillar pod, 217,000(changes everday), everthing works. Has new glow plugs/relays, new ball joints, repacked bearings, newer starter/pads/shoes/clutch, has new trac bar bushings, new clutch bushings, new a/c comporessor, new milemarker hubs, brand new 35x12.50x18 nitto trail grappler MT's(4000 miles on them) on 18" mickey tomphson classic lock wheels. Starts runs, drives great, very reliable and good truck.

What you guy's think? Im leaning pretty hard towards the cummins as I reall really miss mine and know all about these cummins and been wanting one agian!

I think the tires are too small.

As much as I hate to say it......but I think you may be further ahead with the turd, I mean ford. He thinks the tranny is billit....may not be. (he doesn't know). And it could be shifting hard for other reasons.

You know your ford, and whats been done to it for sure. It is cleaner looking then the dodge. And those tires on the dodge are ass, especially for a daily.

I wouldn't bet on that 500 miles a tank either. Those 40s are gonna throw that odometer off hella bad.

That sure is a nice DD ford to be trading off for someones obvious play truck. Just my opinion...

Not worth it. Stick with the ford. It would be hard as H to work that truck anyway. Those tires will take there toll on any kind of drive line, even ours.

That's what I was thinking. When I heard tourque converter from southbend it made me suspicous, and ya the tires are military 11.00x16(40" tall) tires that are VERY HEAVEY. He did say tho he has driven it 1100 miles from florida to somewhere can't remember without a problem. But I do feel my powerstroke is worth more.

A 727 is a non lock up trans. I think someone is pullin someones leg about the converter. It cant have a tripple disc lockup converter in a 727. So what else is he bs'ing you about.
