Estimated HP

Postby 804kevins » Thu Dec 30, 2010 6:32 pm

Im new to this forum, this is my first post. i have a 1993 dodge ram w250 i have installed arp head studs with new head gasket and valve job, HTT 3 piece exhaust manifold, performance fuel pin, 3200 gov spring, fuel screw turned to max, timing bumped, piston lift pump and 100hp shot of nitrous. I just got a HTT 62/71/14waste gated turbo, 4inch rip rock down pipe and a set of new era diesel 5x17 injectors that im going to install this weekend. I was wondering what kind of hp and torque i would be around and any other advice would be great. I know my trans isnt going to last long but i will adress that when it breaks [probally the first pass i make]

Auto?? Your going to power through the converter for sure. Get ready for 3200 rpm's no matter what speed your going. It will feel like a rubber band.

whats your opinion on 47rh swap is it worth it or should i build a 518. I am a dodge mechanic 12 years exp. working on dodges and cummins but im new to the performance side of the biz. big difference in just fixing trucks and making them go fast. my point is i have built many transmissions but never a performance trans i know its all about BILLET! Wheres the best place to get performance 518 parts. is it necessary to go billet all the way through or would i be ok with just input. who makes the best torque convertor im running a goerend convertor now. i am building this truck to run at the track but also want to be able to drive it on the street a little

Your converter will change my thoughts. It should pull pretty good. I'm with Snoots guess with the good conv. As far as tranny builds. Thats over my pay grade. :D

First off I don't know anything about billit shafts but I built a few trans. The few that I've moded have held up behind working P-pump trucks. Here is a link to a post that might help you.

Upgrade the planets for sure and I'm not a big fan of the bigger band apply levers. The bigger ratios take longer to apply and tend to bake the band a little.

I would guess about 350 to the wheels. What nitrous jets are you running? The amount of HP will depend on the extra fuel you have available.

I couldn't even feel a .050 jet on mine. I could hit it at idle.

Picked up 50hp with a .080 jet and c.5x16s (DDP4+)

With 6x16s, a bottle heater, .125 solenoid, -4 lines with -3 ends, and a .157 nozzle with .125 jet, picked up 150hp.
