How much timing did I loose?

Postby Ram360man » Tue Jan 25, 2011 3:07 pm

Installed a .020 headgasket and had .010 shaved off the head. I put timing back to stock and it smokes white and hazes until it gets up to temp. Turbo spools real fast and pulls hard down low but after 2500 rpm seems to be extremely dead. From a dead stop it barely breaks the tires loose and it can't carry it for long. How much base timing do the non I/C have stock. Like 14 degrees??? Might bump it a 1/8 inch or more.

Though it has nothing to do with timing, and may be a stupid question, did you run your valves after you did all this?

I have the valves a .010 intake .015 exhaust. I shoved the pump to the head and it runs good now. Its to cold to mess with it anymore.
