Yeah, I know exactly what you mean...like when u turn your radiatior into swisscheese with your intercooler sunday night before another week of work.

I just don't want to do it twice, if I don't do twins im going to make the single turbo what will eventually be the secondary in a setup.

Im really liking that 63/68 setup I should be able to spool it with a nice flowing head and a cam

Why not try an external wastegate? I've got a 38mm one on my truck and I intend to keep my 12cm housing when I do m twins. I figure use everything at your disposal to get a VE truck spooled, leave the big housings to the guys that can fuel up there.

I don't know, I guess I have my hopes set high in seeing flow from my head, with the manifold milled off extensivly ported and with a big cam im hoping to get airflow...lots of it. Of course this is all an expiriment but who knows ... essentially I don't want to go with a 12 and end up with high drive pressures. who knows I am very possibly completly wrong...I may not have enough fuel with a 12mm pump to spool didly squat

Option 'C' would be buy the cheap(er) 'stock' s300 of your choice, with the 1.15AR T4 housing. Then scour the web for a used, new, stolen, thrown away, or wanted to trade etc T3 .70-.90 s300 housing. Factor in the price of the new T4 s300, time to find and then purchase price of the T3 housing, plus your time to machine said housing, does this beat $1485? If you have the time and patience etc, go that route. I have seen s300 T3 housings for sale on CompD. Place want ads throughout the web, particularly CompD. You might get lucky.

I myself, had your T4 1.15 62/71 s300 'scored' at my local junkyard, but they wanted too much money for it whole IMO. So my plan was to buy it one piece at a time. I had the compressor cover removed, all the center section to turbine housing bolts removed, but couldn't get the center section apart from the turbine housing. This is of course with my 'junkyard' tools. That day I only bought the compressor cover, actually I think it was free 8) . Went back the next weekend and the crate that I 'hid' my 'needle in a haystack' turbo was GONE   !! My plan was to source a T3 housing once I Johnny Cashed it home   . I probly shouldn't be giving away all my secrets hahaha!

hahaha "i think it was free" i dont think any of us have done that.......... .......... well there are a couple guys that have bought the 500$ 63/68 that im looking at and then get a 500$ housing form one of the performance places out there, i forget the company but they were selling a custom t3 cover for the 68 wheel

Bill have you run a 62/71? is it an ok turbo to spool with a 12mm ve?

I made 480+rwhp and 1200tq a bunch of times with a 62/71 .80ar S300 and a 12mm VE. It spooled like stock.

I did 472 hp with my 62/71.

I am thinking of getting a 63/68/.88/t4 just to see if I'm missing out on something and because they can be had for $700. :D

I would want to use the t4 manifold (no adapter) and I think they use a 3.5" marmon flange which would add to the expense.

GLHS, you say the t4 manifold...is there a version of a 6bt manifold that comes with a T4 flange?

ATS make a T-4 3 piece manifold. They crack bad though, at least the 3 I have had did. They really need to beef up the center casting in the webbing.

They were customers, not mine personaly. I have a T-3 ATS on old yellow, and the rest of my rigs just have drilled out bolt hole stockers so they can shrink without breaking off the bolts or ears on the heads. It is a poor mans ATS!! 8)
