Garrett Turbos???

Postby pulltilbroke » Tue Mar 08, 2011 3:58 pm

I just picked up a Garrett GT4502V and was wondering if it would make a good big charger in a twinset on a VE motor.

Specs on the comp wheel are 71mm minor, 102mm major. The exhaust housing has an a/r of 1,72 and the comp has an a/r of .69. BTW this is a variable vane charger.

1.72 A/R? That sounds pretty big to me. Although with it being variable it might be all right. Got any pictures?

i have one of these turbos that was only ran for 2 months, we installed it at out shop, then somehow the tco sensor port was stripped out and they put a new compressor cover on and chipped two of the blades on the comprssor, we still ran it for about 3 weeks till the new one came in. feels tight. didnt know if you would be interested in it for parts. i thought about trying to put it on my truck, but i think it is a bit much for my slow ride, lol
