Okay so after diving my truck for a little, I realize that I want more. Right now my truck, a 92 Extra Cab Long bed (that used to be a 2x4) has a Denny-T fuel pin, a SuperDuty IC, 5x.012's, Advanced the timing ~3/8", A HXsuper 40, 4" DP to 5" Exhaust. It's backed by a now broken Chevy NV4500, and a Ford 205 T-case. Also a HP ford 60 and a Chevy 14 bolt, both with Lockers I run 4.10's with 37's.
Its good for what it does now. I towed ~10K up the cajon pass at 60mph, at 26 psi, at 1100*. I feel like my gearing is perfect for my tire size. So not to bad but I'm going to add a slide in camper or get a toybox so that 10K could easily go to 15K or more. So I want more power.
I think that my motor now makes about 250-300, so making 400 or more is where I want to be. There is a few things that I already have and/or will get like. I have the 3200rpm spring that I will install, along with the KDP that I will deal with. I have all the part #'s for the higher volume lift pump and parts, that will also get installed. All the cooling stuff will be dealt with (new water pump and hoses, and will have a shop go threw the radiator). I'm thinking of getting my pump turned up or even have bigger plungers/pistons installed. Also I know that I need bigger injectors but don't know just how much bigger.
I feel like I should be able to make 400+ HP form my VE pump for less money than it would take to make 400+HP form a P-pump (because I would have to buy everything to convert to P-pump).
And then the big question. Twins. Do I stick with the super40 and add another? Can I use the HC1? Or do I need to get two others? I can fab up all the tubes and brackets. I'm not afraid of that, I just don't know which turbos to get. I'm also leaning towards more to Stock application turbos, not aftermarket to keep costs down. Remember, if I had the money I would just go buy a new truck, not a 19 year old truck. Would a S400 and my super40 work good together?
Oh and the the trans is going to be replaced with a Spicer ES066-7B a seven(7) speed truck tranny. Rated at 65000 lbs I'm in the process of finding all the little parts. It has a SAE#2 bellhousing and 6th 1:1 with a .74 7th, (4500 has a .75) so my gearing will still be where I want it. So I'm not worried about the trans holding up.
Thanks, Jack.
