Fuel inlet pressure vs case pressure

Postby dpuckett » Tue Oct 18, 2011 6:32 pm

I was going to ask this in KTA's thread about his pump testing, but couldn't find the thread, so I'll ask him here. KTA, in your research on the test stand, did inlet pressure ( i.e. stock vs piston lift pump) have a noticeable effect on case pressure and thus timing?

Yes inlet pressures can somewhat effect timing but not to a signifigant extent since typicaly case pressure is over 100psi and that is signifigantly above both styles of pumps pressures. Fuel delivery rates out of the pump have a far greater effect on the timing curve.

Hey, thanks. I knew the pressure gets compounded by the vqvne pump, but I didn't make it that far in physics, so I didn't know for sure.
