Performance differences between 14 cm to 12 cm housings

Postby nyford » Wed Feb 08, 2012 10:48 am

What is the performance differences between the 12 and the 14?

I am running a 12 and like it but I have other issues so I think I am not using the turbo to it's full potential. I think I am running out of fuel. Can't pul more than 22 psi of boast and egt's never go over 800 pre turbo.

When I throw more fuel at her is the 12 going to be too small? The truck gets used only to tow. 89 5.9 with intercooler and nv4500, 4.11 gears. My buddy wants a 12 so would it be worth switching? I am getting a p-pump setup off him for something else so I could put that towards the price.

Thanks

Is your truck stock expect for the intercooler and NV4500? I doubt you'd see much of a difference at all by switching to a 14cm housing, and if your truck is stock you shouldn't be seeing huge boost or pyro numbers. If you start adding fuel you will need a bigger turbo before a 12cm housing would ever become a problem.
