Injector data

Postby cougar » Thu May 09, 2013 2:19 pm

Hey guys, anyone have any length information on nozzles? Been seeing some threads that indicate there are some variations. Along with the length, please give as much information about them as you know. Stock, nozzles replaced, aftermarket, etc. If you got them out, measure them up and post it here.

I guess I looked right over this :D .
Don't have measurements but.....I've a visual reference ;)
Image

From left to right.....stock i/c first gen,215 HP p pump nozzles on first gen bodies, and 7x10 DAP injectors. As I said in our pm's, I believe tip length and my awesome ability to over look schit  caused the poor mileage and for my timing to be off or not as advanced as it should've been.

I'll measure the stock tip length and the dap when I make it to the shop.

My DAP 7X.010 are also .870. So a .065 difference in length over stock. I need to know what the washer thickness is that Cummins put under the stock injectors. With that, we can come up with a workable solution for tip placement. That is, if the tip length of the replacement injector doesn't wind up too short for even the thinnest washer. Following my line of thinking here?
The washers in my DIPACO Diesel Parts p/n DPE59000 kit are .025, .065, and .095.

One should be fine......... as our factory ones get a HUGE washer..........

I don't have measurements in front of me though, but I follow your thinking.

I just swapped some ddp's in my truck for testing (customer sent me some ddps for cores)(lucky me).

I didn't have a caliper where I was swapping them out with, but the tips are exactly 1/8" shorter than factory tips.

They were also installed by a shop (according to customer) with new washers sent by ddp.............they are the same thickness washers as 1st gen's get anyways.

I just pulled the injectors out of my 91.5. They are Bosch 0432131837 which are 5X.012 155°. The length on those are .870 and I had the .065 washers on them. They had light haze at idle and ran reasonable clean. At 50K miles however, the tips were very very dirty. Interestingly, they ran cleaner with the H1C and stock exhaust. I installed the DAP 7X.010s which are also .870 using the .025 washers. Guess what, zero haze! I need to crank up the AFC cause boy howdy can they smoke when poked!

Proper bowl placement means a lot.

I'm going to start a new thread about something similar, in about 10 minutes.

No idle haze hey.......I'm thinking bad thoughts about my truck

Good info here.

0432131837 are 4x.013... are you sure yours are 5x.012

For a little more info on our 7 hole injectors

we have 7x.0105 with slight extrude hone and flow matched with liquid at 100BAR (about 1500 psi) instead of air at 50psi as is common in the industry. They are hotter than our 5x.013
out 7x.012 have some needle work, extrude hone, flow matched with liquid at 100BAR (about 1500 psi) instead of air at 50psi as is common in the industry and no edge filters. These are very close to 5x.016 in flow.

Aftermarket bodies are also available so there is no core charge if you already have performance injectors you want to keep, stock injectors or have 9mm that no one will give you credit for.

0 432 131 837

From my study and findings, that numbers shows up as a " +40 " that is also commonly mis referred to as a "bosch 190"

Which is supposed to be a 5x12................but then again, everyone gets/gives inaccurate information at times.

*edit* - not a 5x12......thinking of a diff. p/n

I have 100+ on my shelf and they are a 4 hole DLLA155P277 (9351 on the tip) Many places do sell 0 432 131 837 as a BOSCH 190, but its not the ideal injector for an intercooled.

BD does offer 5 hole but i am not sure what VCO nozzle they are using.
