First voyage of high pressure seal

Postby cummins king » Thu Mar 20, 2008 6:04 pm

well it all went great

pressure to 30 no leakage, stock seal failed at 30psi, tomorrow i will try 45 and more psi

also i adavanced the timming and gain 10psi, case pressure is through the roof, smoke cleared right up,

so 40psi of boost with hx40 and stock sticks

Hey Ck - why dont you just go with a boost referenced regulator rather than pushin up the pressure for continous duty
It is unlikely you need that kinda pressure just drivin down the road all the time
I spect it would be easier on parts if you only had high pressure under full load

what is cold hot glue - besides an oxymoron lmao

Just the 40? I thought your earlier post said you got the twins finished n installed?

.02

ps - does that mean i have a five dollar credit ;)

the first batch cost me 25.00 each but the second one cost me 20.00 each, but i will send you the rest of the hot cold glue, its two glues that you mix together and you have less then minuts to use it before it hardens, works very well

i have the boost regulated regulator just have to hook it up

40 pounds of boost is with stock stick edms are not in yet, twins are instailed

i know,
i just dont need the stuff anymore so you can have it

but what the cool thing is the case pressure jumped 125psi just by a timming advance, wonder what will happen when i put the ksb on , 375psi, you think it will blow up

Make sure and video it. I would like to see some more explosion so I wont feel so bad about my pile of torn up stuff.

So are you using a snap ring retainer along with your seal? With your hot cold glue will you be able to get the seal out to replace it?

no snap ring, you wont need it with the glue, it shouldnt be any harder to remove then the stock seal,

i really dont want it to blow up, didnt you say Ford that you blew yours up at 300psi case pressure

Why can't you tap a hole and put in a pressure relief valve? Something you can set at 275, 280, or what ever. When it opens, it will dump back to tank?

we dont even know when it will blow up,
but 300psi you think it would,
my regulator is in also witch dosnt help, i dont think anybody else is running that high
the max i have had it is 280psi, and i noticed a bit of seapage around the pump top seal,
i dont think that you will need a blow off valve,

so then im going to stay below 280psi and i should be good

like stock case pressure is 50psi, and at 3000rpm its like 150psi, what do you think the 200psi at idle is doing to the pump and 28opsi at 3000rpm is doing to the pump
