New Era 370 Nozzles

Postby peobryant » Sun Mar 01, 2009 10:32 pm

I know where a set of 2nd gen 370's are for sale for about $275, Could I just take the nozzles off and put them on my stock injector bodies, or is something preventing this?

I don't see why it wouldn't work, but I figure I would ask just in case.

That is how I got the 370 injectors in the trailer pulling truck. It runs a nice 300rwhp and 900ft-lbs.

Is that the same set up George pulls The Ghost with?

Well, looks like I'll have some 370's pretty soon.

Thanks

Brian, did you reset the pop pressure on the injectors when you installed the 370 tips? I would think the pop pressure would be the same as a stock 1st Gen, because I'm using the same body, but I don't suppose it could hurt to get them reset. Where did you get yours reset, and about how much should it cost?

Thanks

We have a nozzle tester here so I set them myself on it. I think DI charges like $30 each to clean and set a injector. Mine were about 3200psi.

I thought the 2nd gen 370's had the wrong spray pattern (angle) for the 1st gen piston? :?

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

I thought that too, but my brother said George Peterson has 2nd gen 370 tips in his 1st Gen tow rig, and it does just fine, and apparently Brian has the same thing, so I guess it doesn't matter too much. Plus I'd rather pay $275 and no injectors core charge than $425 plus core charge.

Well, Brian, you want to do another set? (I'm serious by the way, I don't want to have to pay that much.)
