.084 Lines?

Postby soggy » Mon Jul 27, 2009 12:56 pm

Wondering if anyone has run these, and if there is any benefit? The reason I ask is the company I ordered injectors from sent me the correct tips on P-pump bodies. The bodies have 14mm threads where the injection lines connect to them so they won't thread on there. When i called them they suggested new bigger lines as a possible solution. He actually suggested .093 lines but i thought that would be way overkill so i went with the .084. So that's my story, what do you guys think? They are 6x16 injectors, 12mm ve, aeromotive a-1000 pump.

Haha bigger lines is the solution!  Sounds like the wrong place to have injectors built! Send them back and have them built correctly and pop pressure set to 245 bar aka stock VE pop pressure.

Actually they are held in pretty high regard on this forum, one of the only 2 places that make good injectors. The only reason I didn't send them back is that I waited over a month to get them in the first place and didn't want to wait another month. Apparently they are not invincible like I thought, I am just leaving the local diesel injection shop, got them all reset to 3500 psi +/- 1 bar

Im sorry but if they frigged up they should not be telling you to buy more stuff to get them to work. They would either have to send the lines for free or give you the right bodies like,, right now.

What are you doing about the 2nd gen bodies? Swapping for your 1st gen bodies?

What is the difference between the two bodies, besides the threads? The point of getting new lines was so I could use the larger threads. I just figured if i'm getting new lines, might as get them a little bigger. I did get a discount on the lines but still... my next set of injectors will be from buddha power.

It's fine if you want to run larger ID injection lines. Just have them built with the correct 12mm ends on them.

What are you doing? You're gonna have injection lines with 14mm ends at the injectors and 12mm ends at the injection pump?

My main thing is, i need to get this vessel on the road, Now either I send them back and possibly wait for another month+, or i get bigger injection lines and have it going by the end of the week. Hopefully. So now I'm going to have some funky injection lines and injectors, but it will be going sooner.

I forgot to say, my other concern with them sending you p-pump injectors, is whether or not the pop pressure is set for a VE or p-pump  .

I'm sure though lines will be a pia trying to bolt up to all 12 points along with clamping them together and down. MAKE sure you do clamp them together and down!! They're prebent/shaped right?

They were all at 4400 psi, got them reset at Tri Cities diesel injection service to right around 3500. What's the big deal with clamping? So they don't rub and wear? Yes they are pre-bent.

If they are not clamped tight, they will vibrate and break the end off just outside the nut. On the pump end. I've changed a few of those.
