I come up with .395... cc's for a 12mm plunger with 3.5mm's of lift and .538 cc's for a 14mm at the same lift.

.538-.395=.143
.143/.395=.362 which would be 36.2%

and to check it quickly, .395*1.362=.538

oh yea, you are right

my bad

forgot that you were talking about the area of a cylinder

yes thier custom body they build for the pz pump can go to 16mm. i think the plungers would be kinda big and heavy for higher rpm but i would imagine it would move enough fuel to make well over 1600 hp kinda like a sigma pump i think they are only 14mm.

how do they rate a pumps output?

i know they say "cc's" but what exactly are they saying?

600cc's per what?

at what rpm etc?

i dont get it

i am good friends with ralph gorr and when he is telling me about his latest injection pump he always says so n so many gals per minute at so n so many rpm

that i can relate to

what does it mean if a ip does 600 cc's?

Sigma pumps are 16mm. Anything over 13mm in a P7100 pump is failure waiting to happen. The P8500 can go bigger and I believe that must be what they call a PZ. There are several issues in fitting that kind of pump to a dodge app. #1 the shaft is too big to fit the gear, so that has to be machined, #2 throttle linkage has to be fabricated from scratch as well as the oil line re-routed. The pump is setup like a C-series to return out the gov-hsg so a oil return has to be added. #3 the governonrs on those pumps are for low RPM applications so something will have to be done there as well, or you can just keep rpms below 2500 I suppose. ;)

2500 rpm. BBOOORRRRRRRIIINNNNGGGGG lol. they have a pump called a pz that is a custom built thing that is made to replace the 7100 so i was told they offer it in 14mm standard but 16 is a pricy option also was said that it was good to 6000 engine rpm?? that kinda pump would be copletely unstreetable and good for nothin but a full blown pull truck. hey KTA is the reason for problems over 13mm on a 7100 due to the pressure on the cam or case failer due to the over bore i have seen a busted case and a flat cam out of a 14mm or are there other issues?

The barrel on a P7100 plunger gets too thin when it is bored out to 14mm. It deforms from the injection pressure, and then fails because its not shaped right anymore. While their pump might be capable of 6000rpm without blowing up, I don't believe they sell it with a governor set to turn that much. Did you ask them how the pump comes set as for as governed idle and high speed RPM as well as flow? Are you talking about a 13 or a 14mm pump?

thier pz pump is special built you gotta tell them the specs on the gov when you order it. and on the 7100 i was talkin about one that i had seen knocked out to a 14mm that had several probs. don i am shootin for around 1100hp for my p pumped toy i think a 13mm 7100 would supply plenty of fuel to get that kinda power, and yes i will drive it on the street just not everyday lol
