He was just stuck in the mud on the other side of the creek.

Backyard gymnastics sounds like something you would like. :P

Levi! Buddy! Pal! Dude! Wanna sell some pipes from the twins setup?

I actually have a useful thought for you too! ;) Can you mount the blower direct to the middlecooler? Maybe cut the side out to the size of the outlet on the blower and bolt the 2 together? That would save piping and distance. Obviously you might have to beef up the cooler and make support brackets.

I was thinking about going the blower route instead of twins, but the price of buying a blower scares me. I'd rather just rent her for the 5 minutes it takes. ;)

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

What is the purpose of this engine again? Fun mud truck in the RC or just a fun truck or a daily driver?

If the DD route, I would put the pulley for the SC on an A/C clutch. Disengaged when clutch is pushed in, re-engages when 2-4psi of boost is recognized from the turbo. This way you know the engine has a nice load from the drivetrain and not 100% torque is applied to the input from the moment the clutch start settling in. Also tying in a valet switch so once the turbo is starting to spool it opens so you can regain some sense of mileage.

What a douche, was he too good to call his buddy with a fresh locker to help him out?

Well, here she is. Ebay pic and all, but looking at the inlet and general configuration I think my setup could just work out. She is a little dusty though.

I may turn it even farther over than in my pic. Pete, if you can tell from the pic the bottom of the blower it's quite the open hole down there. The entire bottom of the blower is open, front to back. It would be cool to mount it straight to the middlecooler but I like to be able to take things off the engine easily. I try to keep all the systems of my truck separate so I don't end up taking five things off to get to one.

that said, if you want to pay shipping on a curved, 3ft section of sched.40 to NY be my guest.

Jon, purpose of engine/truck is time burner. Nothing more, nothing less. I'm not worried about tearing anything up too badly since I have a decent ear/feel for chaos in my truck. Not to mention the fact that I run skinny tires and crappy suspension. I'm just in it for fun, that's all.

I've got plenty old PVC pipe thanks! I was actually wondering about the hotpipe between the turbos.

Do away with the middlecooler and plop that baby right on the intake!

He didn't want to end up in the creek. It ended up going in 4wd like it was supposed to and I just made sure he didn't hit the gooseneck or slide over the bank.

Did you ever get a hold of the d bag with your turbo? I'd tell him to eat crap. Hopefully you paid with a credit card. :(

Heh, I was talking about the hotpipe, Pete, it's sched40. I wouldn't hesitate to think it weighs about 40lbs.

I'll never ditch my middlecooler, I love it!!

And no, I didn't get ahold of him yet. I've called a few times now and left him an email. The last time he contacted me was via PM over a month ago to tell me it was shipping the next week. I dunno what I'm doing yet, we're thinking of regearing dad's service truck and it'll need a HP pep to get moving it may find it's way on there.

Talked to Mr. Carl last night and he highly suggested I suck through the blower with the turbo. Guess I'll be waiting until its in my hands to check out my mounting options on that side.

I've also decided to drop my 475 and buy a 67/71/16 HX52. No real reason for it, I just don't feel like dealing with that 1.32 housing and the T3-T6 adapter.

Damn, the lead I had on a HX52 just dried up...

Anyone know the Cummins/Holset part number for this turbo? 67/71/16, doesn't have to be 'gated. I'm trying to dig it up but it's like nobody even looks at ID tags on anything but HX35 and 40's.

!!!! Just found an old CompD thread where Shiftycapone was selling his twin set. I wonder if he got the number off of it... PM's away!

Yeah, but now the bad part... The price...

I'll give your turbo people a call tomorrow, Hiney.

I doubt it's cheap, but I bet no one has it for any better price. If you got the money to just throw away a good twin setup, who cares what a turbo/supercharger combo costs. :yuck:
