best intercooler for our non intercooled trucks?

I voted for other. It was a 1st gen intercooler. Ease of fitment is the big thing. It's the easiest and takes the less amount of cutting, welding, tearing things up to install an intercooler in a nonIC truck. You simply source a 1st gen IC, piping, boots, clamps, intake horn and you're good to go. Add an intercooled style H1C, hx35 or the like and it's even more of a bolt up job.

Have you done it? I've got all the parts, and will be trying it when i do my 4WD conversion.

I've done two of my own. On one of them I did it via a bolt up job cause I didn't own a welder. After I got a mig and learned how to use it, I redid the first and then have done a second one. So it can be done, with or without a welder and without hacking up the 89-90 grill.

Nice.The great i wasn't sure if the Non i/c rad was to wide. Did any of the trucks have A/C?

anywho, whats a good price for a second gen intercooler, plus the intercooler pipes, as i am assuming that the pipes work from a second gen????

You might check with your friendly parts man, he's got a complete spare set-up.
