I know you mean the whole VE vs. P Pump argument, but...
this thread has obviously just been us guys joking around. ;)

That's one of the nice things about this site vs. the other forums.

Personally, all I could ever need to do can be done with a VE, but I'm not unwise like some and feel it's the holy grail, which it's not.

Holy grail? Maybe not, but it is the defining factor between a 1st and 2nd gen 12 valve. We all know when you want SERIOUS fuel only numbers or even crazier drugged numbers you must step up to an inline pump of some kind. But I'll give you an example of what gets on my nerves about the deal...

Me, Levi, and a few other 1st gen locals were up at Hebron, Ohio for the 1st Buckey Blast the year before last. A guy makes a nice dyno run with a p pumped 1st gen club cab 4x4 to the tune of 588 horse. Pretty cool. No one really announced numbers so we kind of hung out there at the end to see if he got the highest number. Turns out one other truck beat him. The owner of the truck responded with "Oh well, not bad for a 1st gen, huh?" To me it's apples to oranges. Numbers that are impressive for a VE truck are so so for a P Pumper. Lots of people don't give a crap about the VE, but there are some of us crazy people out there that get big injectors, twins, etc. etc., etc. to show what the little pump will do.

There is only so much power you can use on the street and not get arrested or killed. RonA drives a 1000+hp, 13mm P Pump, twin turbo, 24v 1st gen on the street; but if I had something like that, bad things would probably happen.

My truck can be handful on wet roads at highway speed, so good luck holding something crazy on the road. Crap can happen no matter how good a driver you are. ;-)

Hell, that's the specific reason for me. It's like those guys with Attitude tuners on their 24v trucks. After they lose a race, they all of a sudden notice they forgot to turn it up to level 5.

With the VE I can always have that general excuse about my truck as well.

It's also nice when you put the spanking on someone with the lowly pump too, but we won't talk about that here. I don't want to give away too much of Justin's future.

I agree with ya Levi, I just meant the only a 1stgen excuse goes out the window when you install the p pump. The old square body ain't what limits your power.

No it doesn't, just don't open the hood.

I believe in the VE enough to want to try to put it on a 2nd gen 24 valve. ;)
Good, bad or indifferent, I just want to "see what happens".

I've had the same idea Mark just no funds to do it.

Trickiest part is making the VP lines work and I believe I have that figured out.
It'll take a little tweaking to get them to line up, but nothing some gentle persuasion and a good line bender can't fix.
