So true. They really don't like P-pump pop pressures, in fact they don't even run very well. Kinda surprised it ran as well as it did.

why would you want more pop pressure?

the pods i have are set up at a slightly lower pop pressure

(100 lower than stock)

you sure yours are set up higher?

higher pop off

Postby roxxx » Fri Nov 09, 2007 12:19 pm

You get better fuel atomizing at higher pop off
I don’t know much about 1 st gen VE but with the VP pumps the better pop off the better the burn and less smoke and more power. I have found a injection and pump shop that's going to give me a bit of guidance in the injection and pump department .I plan on getting a set of the 370's, They are quiet interested in the claim that I can get 70 hp 1ST gen injectors, we are looking into trying to see if there is any marine VE pump or Industrial VE pumps that will bolt up which would mean might be able to get more pressure

It's cheaper to get 600HP out of a VE than 600HP out of a P-pump?

Isn't "high end" P-pump power in the 700, 800+ HP range? And that's relatively streetable; aren't the super modified ones are well over 1000?

800 streetable hp?

i doubt it

but i think you can put less than a grand into a p-7100 and end up with a pump that would supply 800+ hp worth of fuel

something you could never do with a ve pump, no matter how much money you threw at it

you could detune it (slide the plate to the rear) and still be around 600 streetable hp

when you 'need to'... slide the plate forward and watch out!

down the road that is how i want to set mine up

pretty sure josh is doing that right now...

i know of a place to get a 14mm custom pump with or without a gov for around 1600 p pump style with 14mm p&b and 14mm cam lift i think they said it could move like 1200 1300 cc if there was the air that would make some power. and it has a warranty

Well, 800HP is about 500HP with a simple valet switch...

1200cc is more like 2400hp. I have seen 1400+fwhp done on a 5.9 cummins with a 800cc pump, and that isn't burning anywhere near all the fuel. My pump is only 330cc. There are not nearly as many high hp 12v running around as you all seem to think. Look at the dyno event from Scheids only 1 12v cracked 600rwhp on fuel, and it has a fully built motor, but it is a single turbo and a stock maxed out p-pump. The thing I hate about the maxed out big fuel p-pumps is the governor control is horrible.
