BC, you're only running a 3/8's line. That might be the problem right there. Most guys jump to a 1/2 inch.
Have you thought of trying that?

Just enough power to break everything behind the crankshaft.

To be sure 3/8" will support 400+ HP . . . . ?

i am thinkin that if you put a low pressure spring in your l;arge bore lp and lose the bypass your ve will never run it dry

have you tried putting a resriction in the bypass system?

i know you are not supposed to but with the probs you are having i would be thinking outside the box

what inlet fitting is on the lp?

dip stick and -8 line and or bed mounted tank

(vs underbed)

I ran a piston lift pump for a couple years. that thing worked well for 300-350rwhp. I am gonna install the piston pump on the 91 I just bought. I didn't have a fuel pressure gauge back when I was using the piston lift pump but it never seemed to go dry. When I did my last round of mods I upgraded to the airdog150. I just blasted a hole in the bottom of the tank and use a fitting with a viton seal. I don't use the stock pickup at all. I also have all 1/2" lines and a 3/8's fitting into the IP.

If there's only one restriction somewhere in the circuit, it doesn't matter how big a line or what pump you use, it will only flow at that lowest common denominator rate, kinda like the weakest link in the chain. An unrestricted low pressure piston pump flows like a fire hose. And BC's right, 3/8 is plenty for some crazy amount of power. I don't know how much, but way more than anyone's talking about here.

I like Don's idea.
