If you really want to convince us that our trucks sound better with a muffler than without one we are gonna need a sound clip.

By the way, my dodge with a full 4" exhaust and no muffler is quieter in the cab than the old 1/2ton chev I had that was running flowmasters, and the old yota I had with a glasspack.

you aint got a dodge motor in your truck there buddy...you got a cummins

and the reason your cummins is more quiet than your old gasser is cuz your cummins has a little tiny pump on it and it aint makin no power

lol

sorry, couldnt resist

but that does bring up a point: the more power you are making the louder you are...maybe some of you will wish this set up was louder? load also has a lot to do with how loud things are. even unloaded i can hear all the different cool sounds the motor/turbo make but sometimes i wish the ex note was a little louder. loaded it sounds mean as hell but sometimes i wish it was not quite so loud. lol. guess that means its a perfect dual purpose muffler?

a muffler at cost i guess? all it really means is that your memory is better than the other guys. lol. remember, i build the first gen the same way cuz we race outta the right side - thats the side the awning is on. the left side is our 'back yard' at the track and if we dont have a chance to hit a blue beacon we would rather have the 'black' side back there.

speaking of the black i finally figured out what takes it off pretty easy

409

or do you guys have something better?

I think my cummins is makin decent power. The ol yota I had was PIG, maybe 90hp on a good day  The chev was ok, maybe 300hp, with a slight tail wind. :D

My cummins, is plenty loud when I get on it, and if my tail pipe was on the driver side my opinion of how loud it is would probably be completely different.
I do still wanna hear a sound clip.

i am sure it is

(i did put lol ya know?) was not rippin on your truck

a larger turbine will make it a louder tho, but maybe you dont have plans for one. what size inj you run?

sound clip? how you expect me to make that? why not just fly out to cali this winter and you can hear for yourself? i would def do that before spending a hundred bucks or so on a muffler i had never heard in person before

LOL

yea, its louder when you get on it cuz the stuff is like nitro, the more you put in the harder it goes boom - thats why i am saying that maybe not everyone needs a muffler. once you get it running like mine is it dont matter which side the ex exits....in front or behind the tire....you wouldnt want to drive it very far with any sort of load on it - i got home from one race and it took a day n a half before the ringing stopped

it wont sound better - it will sound the same - which means you still hear all the cool sounds - but it will be quiet enough that your ears wont ring after pulling 10,000 pounds home from another state

I saw the lol, I didn't mean to sound offended. ;)
The one time I towed a long way, the trailer I was towing only weighed about 3K, and I turned my fuel down considerably to get better mileage. If I was towing an actual load with the fuel up I bet it woulda been bad.
I still have stock sticks in my truck, I don't know if I'll upgrade them or not. I do realize that it would be louder with bigger sticks in their. :)
I'm runnn a pdr hx-40, so whatever size turbin housing their hx-40 has is what mine is.

I drove an old pete dump truck for while that was straight piped, after runnin it all day my ears would ring for a couple hours, but man it sounded cool. 8)

I am on the same coast, but cali is farther than I wanna drive to hear a killer muff.
