Got the injectors in. Turns out I didn't have the pump on the key well enough...sheared it off, guess I better check better next time! Got the front cover pulled and retimed the pump gear one tooth advanced and put all back together. Started raining and my back was KILLING me! Wnet inside after rolling up the shop and here I sit, mulling it all over in my head...wishing I had the stamina of a tweeker and still out there working!!

Will finish everything up early a.m. manana and hopefully take her for a spin!

Be carefull with those injectors. They are to small for a 14mm pump. You may seize the H/R because of the high pressure it is forces to deal with. The reason for the high pressure is the injectors don't have large enough holes and it backs fuel up inside the pump. Try not to run it real hard or at higher rpm untill you can get some custom EDM'd sticks. As far as pump throw any holley electric in the garbage and get an Air Dog/Raptor, Fass, or aeromotive. If you don't upgrade the lift pump soon you may also gernade the pump. Be carefull and good luck.

Reccomendations on the injectors? I figured they would be too small. The pump is pretty mildly tuned right now, I plan to take it easy for quite a while. Got one trip planned...no trailer, all flat roads. I'd like to look into the raptor pump, seems to be in my price range.
I don't plan to race this truck although a set of twins would be a lot of fun! Right now I've gotta keep the HE341 (351?) until I have some more funds. Will this turbo do okay once I get the fuel thing sorted out?

I am about to put my Rocken Tech 14mm on and I had a few questions about it.

Right now I have New Era 6x18's so I shouldn't have any problems with fuel backing up in the lines should I?

I am also putting together my Aeromotive fuel system so that should be good enough for the lift system.

Is it nessicery to jump the timing with a 14mm? If so, how much?

How likely is it to seize my pump as a low rpm DD with road trips and such?

Sorry for all the questions but I don't wanna do something stoopid and end up costing me a pump.

Thanks

Seems I HAD to jump a tooth to get it ro run right. The timing marks are about 1/8" above stock now. Runs pretty good, just not gonna push it right now due to the need for better/bigger parts.

Get some big 6's. Like 6x16's or 6x18's. Seems to be a common size for the big boys.

I run 6-18's and daily drive all the time. Should work well. Make sure you got a good filter and 25-30psi inlet pressure to the ip. I run a tooth advanced on the timing. Once the twins are on I may jump a 2nd tooth.

i am runnin 6 x 18's and like them

with the 12mm pump it is easily a daily driver with the starwheel set up correctly and little haze

with the 14mm they hazes all the time , and any load at all (like hills) they be smokin a little bit

it is intersting that the p-pump crowd seem to have issue with even 5x18's in a lot of cases

not sure what that is about

I dont agree with the 25-30 psi inlet pressure tho - thats borderline to losin the front seal

20-22 psi has been lots for my setup

I have ran 28psi for 2 seasons and not a problem. I'm not sure how the seal would push past a snap ring thou? Just how my pump is set-up, every truck is different.

yah, you got a fancy mod on there (snap ring). stock IP's don't have a snapring in front of the front seal. not sure if you knew that.

My 6x16's are dirty all the time. I was in Acadia National Park this weekend driving around there park loop roads with lots of greeny's around. ( pedal bikes, Hybred's, ect. ) It blew smoke all the way. Idle to wide open throttle they are stinky. Not a very friendly urban injector. 8)

So then what would let my IP breathe and not be too dirty?
