I'll get a pyro and baseline it as it is, bone dead stock w/o intercooling, then bump the pump settings non-intercooled, then intercooled and work up on the turbos from there.

I'm really curious to see the difference in EGTs between Non-I/Ced stock and turned up, then I/Ced and turned up.

I could use a cohort, where's Pullit with my flashlight?:D

I suppose I could be a cohort

I was out of town from EARLY Monday until an hour ago.
Cohorting around had to wait.
Dropped off 2 rearends at opposite ends of Oklahoma and picked up a mildly deer-dented totally rust free '92 longbed for basically scrap price.

Too bad it is a 1/2 ton GASSER. :(

A flawless trip.
Got a best 15.4 unloaded and a worst of 10 mpg loaded pushing a 20mph wind, with a worthless 1/2 ton on board.

Starting to think the 4.56s might not be the worst thing.

I REALLY need to go through the front end, though.
It's not scary hazardous, but the gasser front springs have about bought the farm.
Nothing another 2 weeks of down time and 3 or 5 hundred dollars won't cure.
The turbo/intercooling is gonna' have to wait.

I hate down time, especially since it's all I have to move stuff with at the moment. :(

Nah, I'm wanting to do the 1,000 pound over (per side) stock springs.
Just my luck something would puncture an air bag and I'd be screwed.

the ones i'm talkin about go inside the springs, your truck does have coils on the front right, anyhow you deflate them squeeze them in and air them up, if one blowes your truck will have a lean till you replace it, my motor home was a 28 ft gmc kinda like a van cab with the bed over the cab it was hhheeeaaavvvyyy and those bags worked great, it would just be a cheap quick fix

HX-35 with a 14 housing.
I tried a 12 and hated it.
The 16 would be my second choice.

Mad Max had the 12 until he tried the 14. He stuck with the 14.

After talking to my brother about this, I change my vote to the 16cm housing. The 12cm supposedly creates to much drive pressure, even on a stock truck. When he gets a bigger turbo, we'll be putting his HX35, and a 16cm housing on my truck.

It's looking like the HX35 is definitely a front runner for at least the compressor side, with the 16cm housing for the exhaust side.
I suppose it wouldn't hurt to go with the 8 blade wheel and housing to go with it, since I'm already into the exhaust housing change, just as well do the other end, hadn't I?

HX35 rebuild kits, who has a good price on a quality one?

Mark, every thread I've seen for an HX35 rebuild says go to ebay. Here's a link to one.

when i rebuilt the hic w/ the 60mm stage 4 i also went to ebay, i found factory holset rebuild kits there cant remember the price but it was cheap and worked great, but if you ask me quality control on the bushings has gone down because wen we rebuilt it it seemd to had a little play so i took it up to cummins here and asked them for one pulled it apart on the bench put in their bushing thinking that mine might have been a "holset knock off" and it was identical, but have ran many miles since then no problem

What did it cost you, Pullit?
Snowing here, my excitement is going away with every flake I see fall.:(

Upside is that I did pick up a very nice set of 19.5 wheels and tires for the hauler, for a real fair price. :)
Weather and funds permitting, someday soon a suspension rebuild and a cab/clip lift will be in the offing.
