I know, even now I forget about that often. But, I had an 03 HO 6 spd. w/leveling kit, 35s, edge tuner, 90hp nozzles and some exhaust. Had the power to pull 50k pounds if need be and never had to worry about egt problems, only engine temps.

I like the fact that you can rely on the mechanical lift pump in almost every scenario. Alternator goes out you can still get home. I'd chose mechanical over electric any day.

Huh that's funny Eric. I would have never thought a common rail would do that. And no I'm not kidding.

Very true. That happened to me once, all I needed was a jump start. I don't see me going above 400hp anytime soon, that'll save me a little green stuff. lol So if I get that lift pump, I would need to get a different spring. Is that easy to do yourself, or should I look for one that is ready to go?

Depends, I'm the only one that offers the lift pump that we are talking about. Others have the smaller diameter piston.

The kit I sell is ready to bolt up and run. I set the pressure on them to run with the ve.

If you bought a factory 2nd gen piston lift pump, you'd have to use a different regulating spring (I also sell those on my site) and then piece together the rest of the kit (hard line, spacer, and some gaskets).

Fwiw, i would get s good mechanical lift pump. Air dog and fass ate both having problems with keeping motors in those things.

I'm not going to be buying any parts for my truck just yet, but when I do, I'll definitely get that mechanical lpplp kit off your site RC. Probly going to wait another month or so. That way I can buy most or all the parts I need at once and they won't be sitting at my house for as long. That's good to known about the airdogs and fass pumps. I know it's preferred to upgrade the fuel lines and the draw tube (or add a sump) with the electric pumps. Is it the same deal with the lpplp?

By increasing the size of the supply lines and draw tube, you'll increase the flow of the pump. In short, you won't be able to draw the pressure down as far at wot.

What else on the goodies list do you plan on getting before the lift pump? Doing everything, or at least most at one time is the correct way to do it.

Well, I'll need injectors since mine are the stock 9mm. Was going to pull the head off to check the cylinders and make sure everything looks good. And while it's off, I'll get it ported, install 60# springs, and O-ringed. A 3 piece exhaust manifold, fuel pin and 3200 spring for the IP, 7.3 PS IC, and a built 47rh. And of course, LOTS of gauges. lol I believe there's less than 250k miles on the engine, so I'm not sure if I am going to get a cam or just run the stock one and see how it turns out. I'm probly missing a few things.

Opened packaging and installed on Sunday. I'm sending it in today. Says I have a month to turn it in from purchase. Didn't know that because packaged was closed. Hopefully they understand.

Sounds like a good plan to me.

I wouldn't sweat the whole not holding up stuff. I've installed several of them with absolutely zero issues.....BUT they also are not molested either. In other words,I'm not needing them to pump 30 something pounds to fuel some monster. These are work horse trucks pimpin VP44 time bombs.
