Yeah, Don, when I punched through, I called the wife and told her about it. I said I made a high dollar mistake. She said buy what you want and don't mess with it. Sure it is a lot of money, but better than a Cummins reman. PB was working at PDR when I called. We talked about what I needed. I wanted a little room to grow with the head, so went with the o rings. I couldn't justify the stage II. But I am still running a small turbo at 25 pounds boost. I just haven't done anymore mods for a couple of years now.

sometimes I wish I would have gotten my dads old 97. its an identical twin to what your new truck was originally-pw7

had a fiberglass scooped hood, alum wheels, fuel plate and a pacbrake. my intro to diesels so to speak, but i have always loved the 93 and older body.

my race trailer is a 30' long weekend warrior. the one with the heavy fiberglass sides. std pull design (and way too long for std pull, btw).

what did you dad let it go for? those are the trucks that started it all. i actually like the mid/late 70's body the best. my favorite trucks to date are my '76 ramcharger - 318, 4sp 4x4. and my '78 power wagon - 440 auto 4x4. that one had the red and black paint, seperated by the yellow stripes (kind of the short bed version of the simon and simon truck) loved that truck

My crew cab was painted up like a 79 macho wagon. Not too bad looking, but I didn't care for the yellow. I got rid of it so it was just red and black. The 78 macho wagon looked MUCH better. My dad's buddy had a business here selling Chrysler parts, and started a habit of going out west to bring back rust free cars. One time he brought back a 78 short bed macho wagon, 440 auto. It was orange and black, and had a 4" lift with 33's. It was badass for sure.

My dad sold his 97 when he ordered his 04.5 3500. He let it go for $11,500 in early 04 with 154k on it. I had just started my current job (my first real job) and just bought my Ramcharger. No way I could have got financed for it with only working there for 2 months, and the parents, check that - my stepmom, didn't want to work with me without going to the bank

The more I think about it, and the more I wish I could have bought it. Oh well, I'll keep on rocking the 318 for now :puker:

i got mine in 1980, from some old guy in okla. brought it home when i finished school and put a '67 closed chamber trw motor in it. 550 lift solid lifter camshaft n everything to make that work. 3k stall manual valve body 727. billet parts and a huge chain in the 203. it would crack the front tires. (with nos n slicks). drove it off a cliff runnin from the law a week later

i didnt get injured in the wreck but destroying that truck almost killed me

It's my understanding that at .400" lift, the stock/OEM intake passes 145 CFM and the exhaust 153 CFM.

ps - dont use your good calipers when doing port or seat work

the fine dust created will ruin them quick style

got those baby's at a pawn shop for 10 bucks decades ago

perfect for stuff like this
