How do you like them though?

Dirty? Clean? Not too bad for the size? Torque? Too much? Not enough?

More info please

They do haze a little and smoke under moderate acceleration but power is good and they spool the turbos quicker and harder. Stabbed the pedal on the freeway this morning doing about 80.....smoked like a train for a secondthen spooled and started to take off and BANG!!!!! It blew the charge pipe off at the grid heater intake. Sounded like a shotgun...had to limp it home 30 miles without a clamp on the pipe...haha

They do run cooler under normal driving conditions, probably cause I added timing. Haven't had a chance to watch pyro under a wide open run...gonna need vavle springs before I can make that much boost somewhat safely.

Ill keep tuning and puttin miles on it, but so far I like um.

LOL..... I remember my first intercooler boost explosion. I was POSITIVE I blew my engine.

They are a fairly hefty fuel moving injector. They are 72lpm....... for a comparison, they are 8lpm smaller than what Turboram has in his 14mm pump. Came from the same flow test bench. So they will move the fuel for a lot of power.

Well seeing as I have no hood I saw it happen, wish I would have been lookin at the boost gauge.

Heh, back when I first made my cowbell I had the boot slip off of it at like 35psi. It jumped the whole hood up a noticeable amount and sounded like a shotgun went off right at my feet, I swore the whole engine had fallen out of the bottom of the truck.

Still hazes a little under light acceleration and idling when its cold. Any ideas on how to tune that out? Should I try raising the star wheel? Its already about stock height.

So it doesn't haze when sitting or at a sustained speed, but at a light acceleration?

Adjusting starwheel may help, but if it hazes the entire time with steady foot pressure then no.

Need to adjust timing..... generally advance it, as most people don't run over advanced. But if it is over advanced enough it will cause the same issue.

maybe ill take a little timing out of it and try that, its almost to the head, but i figured these have a higher pop pressure so wont they need more timing? Still think the hungry diesel needs to make some thin washer 9mm to 7mm adapters.................

I really have no way of making thin washers.

i can easily mod the bushings to have a thin washer, but no point in me trying to make them. let me know if you're ever interested

How would you do it? It could be done with a lathe no prob, but I don't have one. I thought about grinding them down but it would be nearly impossible to get them even and not leak. Maybe it someone had measurements of what "thin" washers are I could take them to a shop and turn them down.

There are washers from .010 all the way up to .125 so it's really more up to what you feel you need.

I'm 90% sure that the "215" washers are .020..... I don't like to go thinner than those.

Actually the best way is, if you can get an accurate measurement. MAX inj. tip protrusion recommendation from Cummins is 1/8". Beyond that you're asking for trouble.

Where does one get injector washers? Especially the .020 ones?
