ford69557ci,

If the vane pump dismantles itself at 75-80 psi, why not run it with 60-65 psi to the inlet? Is there a big change in cc's of fuel delivered? I understand wanting to get every last bit out of the pump (and say thank you sir for the r & d you are doing for all of us), but it seems like you aren't gaining anything but unreliability. How is the 14mm head holding up? Are you planning on running the a1000 to the inlet and using the Pro Series pump to supply case pressure when you finally get your pump installed? Sorry bout all the questions but this and the crazy fuel system thread have got all sorts of ideas running through my head  :D . Good luck.

yes the vane pump comes apart at 75 or 80 and yes there is a slight difference in cc of fuel at lower pressure. i have it set at 68-70 now and have no problems other than keeping the shaft seal in. the 14mm h-r is doing fine i think the only reason anyone had any trouble with them was due to not havin enough fuel supply. i am just going to run the pro series pump only because with my large modified fuel inlet and all of the internal flow improvement it seems to be doing fine with the single feed. keep in mind though that the pump has only made it to 2500rpm due to the seal failure issues so at 5000rpm it may need the dual feed to keep up and that is somethin iwill figure out when i get the seal problem solved. as for whats ported in the pump??? everywhere that a drop of fuel can go has been worked on which included alot of extrude honing and that wasnt cheap.

well i think i have around 500 in the thing since i had it done all at once. did it help with flow?? i would like to think it did but i really didnt have a baseline. i was going to start testing the pump in each stage but decided that would be a pita so i just build the thing once i had all of the parts and all of the machine work done but now i have to tear it down and do some machine work on this seal.

there cant be any harm in tryin, i was thinking your going to have to change the timing because the roles have to go farther to get over the hump there is a difrence in distance it is going to travel, did you check if theres enough room for the extra .5 of a mm,
