Drove around all night last night and then went to work and picked up a couple tons of #4 gravel. This was exactly 2 tons, it grossed at 9640. Kinda sad that that's not that far from the factory weight on some Ford trucks I've been around recently.

I swear those springs are some kind of practical joke spring. There's no way it can ride as rough as it does and still squat like that the second it gets some weight on it.

so your empty weight is only around 5600lbs? that seems really light

Yup. It was ~5250 when it had the auto and stock turbo/intake. I think the Getrag swap bumped it up around 54-5500, then the twins and all the associated garbage bumped it up to its current 5640. I've got some crap in the bed and cab that I could take out to get me back under 5500, but it's stuff like jumpers, jacks, a spare tire, and 5 billion empty beer cans.

You know, stuff you really need on long road trips.

Oh, you mean "spare trannies, crankshafts, rods, pistons" and the like?

Like my rolling "scrapmetal pile" pictured below?

You never know when you might lose a crank or adapter plate while out on the road. I'd call that being prepared. 8)

Mine's 5300 with a fully stocked tool box which I guess weighs 300 and me weighing in at 150. If that's true, my truck left the factory at under 5k.

Mark, Is that a 2nd gen block plate?

You did say you bled out the injectors. That's working on the truck.

It's kinda sad that Bill gets more weight on the back of his latest truck than yours grosses loaded.

I heard the scale house refused to give him a weight ticket the last time because they didn't want to be responsible. ;)

Well, I've never scaled it with any of my ex's in it, I may have given him a run for his money at some point then.

Levi, you should go back and read the first thread you were making fun of. You could really learn something.
