OH.............I don't know if I'd go that far.

2 years ago, Alligator Performance (not twenty minutes from me) built up a 6.7 for a gentleman down there. They put on a 71mm turbo, to prove people that the 6.7 can spool large turbos.

It did spool it as a daily driver..........boost came in at an incredibly low 1650 rpms. Now, I don't feel for one second that a ve powred 6.7 could spool that large of a turbo worth a snot. I bet it'd put that 1650 rpms up to 2000.

Look at the difference between the ve 5.9 and the cr 5.9 HUGE DIFFERENCE. It's not all cubes.

The pump he listed the injectors he listed it needs to flow on the back side I would say a 73 turbine all day long

All the parts are listed on compd for sale anyway
92 Cummins: DD, basic mods, topper, 9'2" bossV
92 Cummins: 10' tall, Rockwells and r1's "Dirty Addiction",
83 RC/SB Cummins: engine set back 18", block 89w/h20 after cooler, fire ringed and worked head, studs, billet 64/68/14w/race cover, custom header, bigger sticks, 47rh, dana 60, four wheel disk, and big Mickey Thompsons w/ Weld drag lites. "The Mustard Bucket"

One thing everyone is forgetting...........It doesn't matter what injectors he has listed for it now.

Why I say that is, Mark is/was looking for something to be an ultimate tow/low end torque monster. Putting a large turbo is simply making it a higher rpm engine.

I had a s330 (62-73/14 ie .80) that spooled like a mutha effer and later with twins it kept thoes caricteristics spooled at 1800 keeping real low drive and egts, just sayin.

Honestly I've had enough of this banter Ive had way too many different combos on way too many different trucks to not know jack because I don't have a thousand post here

That's a decent point, RC, doesn't Cummins run a T3 HX40 on their 8.3's? Why wouldn't that be a good match for a mild, tow/work only 6.7? I doubt any of Mark's Cummins have been revved over 2k anyways.

From my limited knowledge on the larger Cummins' stuff, I thought it was the t4 hx40 that we're used to using/swapping housings on. But it might have been the t3 housings (16cm ) that they used. I honestly don't know.

However......... It would work, if Mark wasn't fueling it so hard. Keep in mind that that turbo is overly fueled on even a mildish ve 5.9. I've got a local buddy that runs a Super HX40 w/16cm housing and he can overwhelm (1600+egts) it with stock non I/c injectors, even with a cam and heavily ported/polished head.

A shame this one died out. I have been in 1st gen withdrawal for the past 2 years when I bought my 2012 3500 CCLB g56. I need the instant response of the VE instead of the joystick fly by wire pedal disconnect feel it has now!

There's a few of us following that thread on cumminsforum, and me a couple others have posted toward the end. It's a really good thread
