I ordered a compound turbo kit. It's going to be a month or two before I can install it though.

I went with the PDR "cobra" (kind of a silly name, but ok) Stage 3 kit. I assume it's a 57/65/14 S300. The big turbo is an HT3B "modified" by them. It was $3249. Yeah that's a bunch of money, but half that cost is turbos, and it *should* bolt right on, hopefully.

I'm working on getting the headstud/valve spring install lined up in the next week or two.

I hope to be able to tow my 5th wheel with a little authoritay once the dust settles.

Let us know how that kit bolts up, I have been eyeing one and was hesitant bc of possible "complications"

I'm sure there will be complications. There always are. I do know you have to relocate the heat exchanger for the automatic transmission. I plan on deleting it.

No I haven't. I am going to do headstuds and valve springs soon though. Trying to determine if I can go without O-ringing the head.

Rumor is NEW headbolts torqued properly will hold 400 hp, but I think just retorquing what you have, and hold out until she gives

Thats a dirty rumor. You might luck out and hold that for a while, but anything over 300 is pretty high on boost and cyl pressure so it won't last.

Thats is where I read it..........I think that if you are going to spend the money on the upgrades, o-ringed head and studs should be on that list, but thats my humble opinion

I can't be too risque. I don't want to be blowing stuff up in the middle of Wyoming at 1 a.m. in the middle of winter.

Oh I hear you, Im in the process of fixing all of the potential problems that are lingering, lift pump, fuel lines, head gasket, front and rear main seals, and ip, I just want to know that the weakest link in my setup will be the dummy behind the wheel

I am reading BC847's thread on DTR an am starting to get scared now. I thought it was more of a bolt on affair.

By the time you get your twins on and setup, the last thing you want to do is take it all back apart to change a headgasket. Studs and o-rings are cheap insurance as far as I'm concerned. Look at how much you've spent already. A new headgasket is over $100, not counting the time to take everything apart and put it back together. Things always break at the worst possible time too...
