ok i see lots of people doing pump timing but i personaly am not a fan

but are people doing pump timing to not spray out of the piston bowl when spinnin these trucks fast or?

I bumped mine for the cooler egts. It also idles better,smoother, when cold.
Why are you not a fan of it.

When i was at school i was showed a table that had the pros and cons of advancing and retarding the timing on a diesel (fairly general set up) and didnt really see anything that made me want to do it

According to a few people, timing was retarded in these engines for emission reasons. Lower cylinder temps (due to retarded timing) produced less NOX.
