Any ideas?

Postby 89workhorse » Wed Dec 14, 2011 9:33 am

Hey guys I know these are over asked questions but here goes, I have a 1989 non I/c w/ ddp stage 3 nozzle tips, 4" turbo back exhaust, 3200 rpm spring, denny t 2 fuel pin, turbo: 60cm wheel & housing &14 cm exhaust housing. This truck is a daily driver that doesnt pull much. I have guages & was wondering what size injectors to go with and will the afc delete be good for this truck. and what else? Thanks

Some people will argue that your right foot is the best AFC, but personally, i like having a functioning AFC. About injectors, that 60 mm upgrade won't cool as well as you think it would. Getting air in is only half the battle, getting exhaust out is important too. I don't know what DDP 3's measure up at, but especially with out an intercooler more fuel could get you hot in a hurry

The way you are setup now you've probably got 250+ hp and around 550 lb/ft at the wheels. What are your goals ie what do you want from your truck? Helps us with advice. With no intercooler and much bigger injectors you will be pretty warm on the egt's.

Is your EGT probe in the down pipe or manifold? Is your injection pump tuned up at all? Those EGTs do seem really low

The probes in the manifold, & pumpes maxed out, they used to be higher but the more I do the more efficient she runs, thats why I figured I should start goin bigger

those egt's are mega low, you should be much higher than that. Methinks something is wrong with your fuel system/guage/pump if 1100 degrees is your max egt.

I could peg my 1600 degree egt in 3 seconds flat with a "maxed" pump and hx35

a "maxed" pump would be a tid-bit hotter than 1100 degrees

Running the IP outta juice. Do you have an aftermarket lift pump?

Are those the new DDP3 (which are the old DDP4) or the old DDP3's?

What is your timing at?
