HX35 exhaust housing

Postby m880cummins » Fri Jan 27, 2012 8:14 pm

I have been driving my truck with the HX35 for a couple thousand now but have a question. It has the 12cm2 exhaust housing and spools up really fast but I can only hit 20PSI with it. Is the 12cm housing too restrictive for more boost? Also I have the stock crossover pipe so it reduces from 2.5" to 1.75" would that do it?

I would like to see 30-35PSI out of it!

Just put my hx35w on and i hit over 50psi. I have many many fueling mods and other mods. I have the 12cm housing also. I also have my w/g unplugged. U may not have enough fuel to make that much boost. You waste gate may be opening up are what u r hitting now. I hit over 50 and mine is intercooled. You may also have a boost leak.
And the hx35 does spool up super fast! I love mine so far but im pushing its limits also....

The turbo pushes 40+ now! It turned out at high boost the exhaust brake would close partially. Well with this new insane amount of boost (to me) I layed into it going up a long hill and heard a loud BAM! At first I thought it was a boost coupling boot but it turned out the large snap ring that holds the compressor on blew off and luckily I didn't mess up the wheel or housing but lost the large O ring. Tomorrow's sunday so I'm F'd. Yeah it kinda scared me and I guess I just layed into it too hard. I was in 5th pedal to the floor, boost gauge pegged for about a minute.
