HY35 flange contraption?

How is one supposed to hook one's downpipe to that flange contraption? Do they all have that?

Geez, what's that off? I have one off a '01, and it has the bolt on exhaust housing. I took the funny one off and put my 16 on. Actually, I left the 16 on the truck, and swapped the rest on to it.
And to answer your question, yup!

You put the compressor and wheels off of a HY into your H1C's 16cm housing?

How would I go about mating that thing to my truck's down pipe?

Aaahhhh! HY! I should read slower or pay more attention! I had an HX-35. I'm pretty sure you can buy 4" down pipes for a newer truck that have that flange. I don't have a clue on clearance though. With the funny looking cab and all!

Get a flange off a 12v engine. It will bolt onto the turbine outlet of the HY. Or it should. Someone with absolute knowledge should verify this. You can always get a 2ndGen downpipe and cut the flange off it.

Where'd you get it from?

If I can just get a second gen downpipe, I'd be fine. As long as the flange and downpipe combination don't end up firmly implanted in my firewall.

I have an 1990 automatic.

I would guess that they put the flange on the turbo so that the downpipe could go straight down without having the 90 degree bend on top of the pipe.

The flange looks like it is made so that a straight downpipe goes straight down? Or would it angle back a little bit?

I just don't want to get a second gen downpipe and then realize that, when I bolt it onto the flange, it's trying to angle itself into the firewall.

look at the angle created between the flange that the dp bolts to and the ex housing itself

that would have to be 90° for the dp to go straight down

it isnt

2nd gen dp's do not fit on our trucks

All you need is a adapter plate for the exaust housing to fit your stock v clamp pipe. I just sent one off to a guy in Oklahoma. They cost around $90.00 for a new one or you can find one used for around $30.00. You will need a gasket to fit or use high temp goop. It will push your exaust back about 3/4 inch back just loosen your exaust clamps at the tranny and it will push back.

What does this adapter plate look like and where do I get one?

You see where the down pipe bolts on to the back of the exaust housing I think 5 bolts? take that off and the v clamp adapter bolts on there then all you do is connect the stock down pipe to it.

Excellent. Thank you.

Know where I can get an adapter plate? Rip Rook?
