Postby TheTowingCowboy » Tue May 01, 2012 4:19 pm

Well I am here late and this project was originally going to get a first gen 7.3 Powerstroke, but that never happened, and so on and so fourth but now that I got the ever so universal Cummins 6BT here I am =D SO this is a link to my Facebook album of the truck.

I will add more to this in a bit once I got some time so you guys know whats going on with the truck.

Well I am finally getting around to adding a description of this build to the thread. This truck was bought back in 2010 for 400 dollars, and is a 1975 Ford F250 4WD 'High Boy' and was originally a candidate for a first gen 7.3 Powerstroke, well the fall of 2010 I was given a 1978 F100 ranger explorer by my uncle. Slowly it came to me that I should put the 78 Body on the 75 frame. Well due to not money and such I mainly just started to do up the 78 body. Now I am to the point of a steady always the same kind of pay check where I can afford to play with it. The engine I bought is a first gen engine, hence why I am here with 90,000 original miles, the trans I am getting next week for it is a 5 speed from a school bus that I hope to figure out how to put OD in it. For this I am converting to a hydraulic clutch (Maybe a assisted clutch of some sort?) and also plan on doing a hydroboost conversion using chevy parts. The rear end is a Dana 80 10 lug dually rear end from a 1998 Chevy 3500HD (So they can't say I am not using medium duty parts, when it came in a 1 ton) I am also converting the front to use 10 lug rims that match the back. The rear suspension is getting changed from the U shaped 'High Boy' style suspension to the newer flatter 'Low Boy' style suspension that has been used from 77 1/2 up till.. well IDK when lol I just know that a 1997 F250HD uses the same suspension. Also I plan on long traction bars that conned tot he frame right under the cab. I also plan on air bags in the rear with some in the front possibly. The interior is going to be nice but not overly nice. Bucket seats from a 1995 Bronco (Getting custom reupholster), and some other things, nothing to wild.

As for performance I plan on driving the truck with the fuel just turned up some and gather Hi-Po parts. Which I plan on a Pee-Pump conversion, which I want to run a single 2.6 so I can pull street class. But Part of me wants to do compounds and try int he open class. (Yeah I know suicide) I also don't plan on stacks, I plan on 5 inch exhaust from the turbo all the way back to the exit which it will do in front on the passengers side rear tires. So that it thus far. I am waiting and hoping to gather some performance stuff as I go. So check my FB link or I may add it every once in a while. I always update that with pics and I will update here with info!!!
