Postby c12h26 » Sun Oct 07, 2007 4:11 pm

yesterday we advanced the timing an 1/8 in.later that day we went to the drag stip to see what kind of difference it made.we went from a 14.49 at 91 mph to a 13.99 at 95 mph .the egt and boost did not change

Well, there's a lot to factor when you do a different day test......just to name some of the factors...

1. did the truck weigh the same both days?
2. was the fuel used for the test the same? ie....from the same pump...
3. air temp?
4. track temp?
5. humidity?
6. wind velocity and direction?
7. rpm at the finish?
8. truck running at the same temp?
...
...
...
best way to do it is do a couple of passes and average them, make the change and log any differences in weight, temp.....etc..
do a couple more passes and then note the differences.

That's why most racers keep a log book...even going around the waterbox makes a difference rather than driving through it......
