Oh, also..... I have been told by someone who works with him, that the guy that did my nozzles, also does BD's injectors. I also had a wink and bump, bump that he does the "overflow" work of ddp.

Of course the above doesn't mean a thing, and is merely here-say.

edit. I should say that I went with the 5x18's after my scheid 6x16's did the same thing your's did.

Scheid now offers a "Billet Steel" 5x18. Flows a little more than the 6x16. To help address cracking and such, it's built around a 9mm shank so you'll have to drill out your existing 7mm injector bores. . . . .. . . if you're into it.

But every one thinks that anybody that doesn't do it exactly like them are a worthless, retarded, doo doo head that doesn't deserve to breathe.

Ain't that the truth.

I've asked Joe to include a handful of assorted shims so I can dial-in the pop-pressure on these new nozzles. Hope to have things running a little closer to normal come Wednesday or so.

Then get back to the IP timing thing.

Yep, good ol' timing.... I wish it were like the old days where ya bump it and it drives better so it must be perfect. Now it's chase here, chase there....think I got it, no maybe not, maybe I should try here.

I don't go for "billet" injectors. Why? They are billet to start with.

Shhhhhhush! The people don't need to know that.

But seriously, Joe talks like there's additional meat around the sac as well. I just wasn't into $300 a piece. Or drilling into the head.
I'm sure they're good stuff but I'll take my chances with what's worked well for me. :)

Not that I have the slightest clue, but do you think the fact that it was a 6-hole injector contributed to this? Since there's an even number of holes it may make it easier to break like that since it can get a nice, straight shot across the tip. You think a 5-holer may be a little tougher since it wouldn't have such an easy choice to break?

Yeah. Runs OK I guess. Certainly a lot smoother as one or two of the injectors pulled had pop-pressures well off of the original 235bar setting.
Everything's now at 240bar. I raised it 5bar in the hopes of clearing up some of the idle haze.

At this point, I've got to be careful messing with the truck as I've GOT to have it in good running order as I start a new job this coming Wednesday. I'm suppose to end up with a job provided vehicle, but in the mean time . . . .

I reckon I'll resume dicking with the IP and its internal timing this weekend.

Why did you decide to run the pop pressures lower than stock? To gain more fuel?

With the right air, it doesn't smoke any worse than otherwise. It does however contribute to idle haze. ;)

Note WOT smoke and lack of blackness (is that a word?) . . . . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=MFlg83WExVI

A side effect is that the injection event footprint is widened somewhat which is actually counter to making efficient power IMO. :?
