Somebody send me a 190 injector and I will measure it and post the results. Then we will know for sure what is bigger and littler.

I found a good deal on a set of used bosch 190 injectors for my 92 cummins. Am I reading this right that there smaller then stock? I also have a set of stock injectors from a 89 non innercooled, I can get them machined for free, would it be worth it? I would want to get them balanced and "cleaned" if i were to use them. Any idea how much it would cost and where to go? Any where in or close to minnesota?

Thanks, Jake.

Yes, the Bosch 190's are smaller than stock intercooled injectors, but they are much more efficient, so you'll get more power and better mileage from them. If you plan on towing, and don't want to have to worry about EGT's, these are the injectors to get, in my opinion.

I personally wouldn't run a set of Non I/C injectors in an intercooled truck, mainly due to money. By the time you got the Non I/C injectors machined and the pop pressures reset, you could more than likely buy a set of POD's (either new or used) which are bigger, for either near the same price, or cheaper.

What are your plans for the truck? We can't succesfully recommend an injector for you, without jnowing what it'll be doing. An injector for a high horse play toy won't work well in a truck that will always be hooked to a trailer.

Also the NON IC injectors have a different spray angle.

Thanks for the reply guys. Its my daily driver, i haul mud trucks and fire wood with it, but right now the egts arnt an isue. Should I get the 190s? I could get the non innercooled injectors machined for free, I would just have to get them adjusted. Will the different spray pattern hurt much?

No, the different spray angle isn't an issue at all (if you don't care about a little more smoke) but I still wouldn't put Non I/C injectors, in my truck. You plan on hauling, so I'd stick with the Bosch 190's and play with the pump as well. I'm not positive, but the 190's would probably net you better mileage as well, seeing as they are more efiicient.

Re: INJECTOR CHART

Here is a little more info on the injectors that I have had built. I measured them whiel I was taking out my 370's and putting in the DDP's.

My honed 370's are 5x.013 (70lmp)Made 600+hp
DDP 4's are 5X.014 (72lpm) Made 600+hp
Honed 185's are 5x.010 ??? Never did dyno them. I sold them to a friend and then I was curious how they woud do if I had them honed so I bought them back. I Never did any testing with them. Maybe I will put my hot 12mm pump on and then see how they compare. They shuld make decent HP number, but I think the real gain would be in fuel milage.

Well I was actually shocked when I measured them. With all of the talk about 5x.016 and 5x.018 I thought mine would measure out to be around that size. Maybe I have some more HP to gain by stepping up to a bigger injector?

I found these on ebay, anyone know if they'll fit 89 1st Gen non-ic? ... and also any other specs about these. My truck has done 260,000km and is a bit smoky, had the injectors cleaned but think they need a rebuild or replace and these could be cheaper.
