Hey guys, I'm wanting to know how to turn smoke screw. I know its under the little cap on the pump. Do you just take the nut loose and tighten the Allen screw in? I've got enough power, I just want to smoke a little more. People see my stack and poor smoke on me but mine just smokes a little when I floor it. Will turning it affect anything? I'm just wanting more smoke. My pump has 3200 gov spring, screws turned. I'm not sure which screws are turned because I bought the pump already turned up.

Frankly, you're gonna catch a lot of flack over simply wanting smoke for the sake of blowing it. Just like a man is not measured by the size of his turd, the measure of a trucks power, is not judged by the soot left behind.

If you have a '90 with the power screw turned in and it doesn't pour smoke like a train, something is up. In my younger, more foolish years (last year ) I stopped traffic in both directions on a county road. If you want to go around the Wal-Mart parking lot oraling coal like Billy Badass, you better have 6-700 hp to back it up.
The Cliff's notes: I think you have a little more fuel (power) on the table

Sorry for posting in wrong area. But I thought it would smoke like a freight train. It runs like a scalded dog, I can be on dry pavement and powerbrake it and roast tires, and it will get up and go! If you mash it to the floor while driving it will dump a little then clear up. If I'm at a stop and flora it, it will dump some and clear up and start spinning. I guess I should be happy with power. I just like seeing black smoke. But it has the 3200 gov spring and turned up. When I first put it on it was off time and no black smoke even flooring it on dead stop. I moved pump barely and now it runs as I explained. I may try to put a little more time.
If it is running cleaning and like a scalded dog, then that is the best you can hope for. The EPA is cracking down harder with diesels lacking their emission equipment and bellowing smoke.

Ya ill probably leave it like it is, I'm not sure on turning screws because I don't know which ones which. The pump stuff besides cold air intake is only thing done to it. I bought it from a guy on a farm who moved cattle with it. It is all original but the bed is beat up. Has original steel wheels I spayed black. Id like to find a synonym to put it on just to see how much its got. Id like to pull once at my local fair too.
