I don't pretend to know everything when it comes to turbos..... I do know that I have personally talked to people who design turbos and understand them. And when I am told certain information I remember it. I think it has something to do with how it pulses with your "companion" cylinders.
If it was straight forward with the size of the housing..... why do you think they would make divided and undivided housings?
