Bought a bht3b

Postby RCCUMMINS89 » Mon Mar 11, 2013 11:21 pm

 Bought a low press. turbo tonight. I can't wrap my head around a perfect single, and probably for good reason. It's a bht3b with the 23 non-divided housing. Price was right so..........

Oh.... and a 2nd gen intercooler............and I have some nozzles waiting to be flowed and put on my bodies..........All I need now is a cam.........and 415hp here we come

I am trying to find a lp turbo aswell, thinking a hx52/55 or he551w to mate with my 351cw.

I've been told that the 472 is a real good match to it. Only down side is you have to pretty much buy them new, most of the 472s have the t4 housings because the bigger guys run them as singles.

Ya i have read a bit about the 472. When do you plan on having your setup functional? Be interesting to see how it works and the difference of what you have now.

That's the housing I was gonna run.... 1.25 might be better though with the 472.

I'll probably have it on in may.... in all reality. Problem is though, like always I won't be doing 1 thing at a time. I'll be doing twins, i/c, injectors, and more pump mods alll at the same time.

He does have good prices. I'd also check with Turbo Daves, and Forced Inductions. They gave a friend of mine a competitive price as well. May have to call forced Inductions, their web page was a little bit of a pita.

So, when are you installing the BHT3B?

I am putting one on my truck as well, but under an HX35 and it has the 26cm turbine housing. If you decide you want to try the 26 let me know and i'll swap with you. I might want the 23 for my towing needs over HP wants. :)

I plan on having everything in running order around May. Depending on how fast it spools and what the top end is like, I may want to swap to a 26, so keep in touch about it. I chose the 23 for super fast spoolup to match the 351. Thing should be a wicked fast twin set up, if done right. Also, I will be running a 5x13.5 nozzle flow honed out to around the 70lpm mark. I'm hoping to get around that 450 mark, but more importantly what it will allow me to gain is more speed and a free-er top end..... so even if the peak hp stays the same it will pull harder on top.

I'll be watching too. It's a pipe dream of mine to set an HT3B under my HX35.

RC, is the 23cm housing hard to come by? I've heard of quite a few 26cm housings.

Well.... I was more looking for an s472 with the t6 1.1 housing, so I wasn't keeping an eye open for the 3b. So in saying that I have only seen 2 ever, but that doesn't mean anything at all because I wasn't paying attention. I did want to stay with a small undivided housing to match the 351

Time for some real injectors!

Remember, KTA made 480rwhp on a single, and 486rwhp with twins. It should pull harder up top though.
