How to make it go fast

You get whiplash driving one, idle full fuel, idle full fuel. The truck p7100's are not full rpm range governed like the ve is so you have 3 modes, idle, foot hooked directly to the rack, and high rpm fuel cut. When you have a pump that throws 50cc/ 1 mm of rack travel you will find that 100hp worth of fuel is very hard to control by moving your foot less than 1mm. It is the 4k and up springs that really make them bad.

I've driven a 500+ HP p-pumped truck - the word "twitchy" comes to mind. ;) I would hate to drive a high HP p-pumped truck with a stick in heavy traffic. They are real jumpy. Makes my truck seem mellow in comparison.

you could probably just hit it with a shot of nos and fire it up

i used to have to do that to my '78 power wagon

built 440 with a 850 holley dbl pumper

nice carb but not meant for going up OR down cliffs

sometimes i would be at some crazy angle and it would flood the motor

cheetch cheeetch

fire right up

i guess now they make off road float assemblies for holley 4150 series carbs...

i will just keep it parked in the shop where it stays warm but i do wonder if the no2 would make for an easier start?

I wouldn't think so. If grid heaters help starting by warming up the air, I don't know what nitrous would do but cool down the air...

Ether would be the best bet, or some other fumigated fuel like propane or methanol. But the grid heaters might blow it up; what is the autoignition point on ether?

I think nitrous would be going the wrong way. All the air in the world won't fire the Diesel if it's only 300 degrees at TDC. Most reliable way would be to hotwire or double up the grid heaters and use the block heater under a higher threshold temperature.
