Non Bosch Nozzles.

Postby RCCUMMINS89 » Mon Apr 01, 2013 11:41 am

So, I wanted to give "the best quality" non bosch nozzle a try.... I was hoping that these would be able to be an affordable answer to the expensive Bosch nozzle prices.

Here is the results..... Even though companies may offer a "matched set" doesn't mean a thing. I was going to have a set flow honed in order to find the metal consistency. This couldn't be done very well because all 6 nozzles were a slightly different lengths. Ever wonder why some get a lot of smoke and hazing problems with aftermarket injectors? It is like putting in different thickness washers on every nozzle.

To top it, 1 nozzle opened up almost 15 lpm on the first flow and it took about 6 flows on one just to open it up 10 lpm.... obviously problematic.

So in short, I won't be carrying non bosch nozzles. Sad, but true. I won't be able to offer cheap injectors to compete with the other affordable injectors out there.

You know what the bad thing is?
Some of the other builders probably wouldn't do the testing you did on these and are selling sub standard schit.
CMIIW, but this could get real interesting.

These are probably the most common nozzle sold in the aftermarket world. Realisticly, these are going to run ok in the vast majority of vehicles. But once again, it just isn't right. There is too much of the "it works" and makes more horspower than stock so it's an upgrade. But these little things make the difference between 5x16s with a 62mm charger that make 320hp and smaller injectors and smaller chargers that make a lot more power.

I am finding out that the same things are going on in the turbos being sold. Sizes are being sold that are moving less air than smaller sizes, just like fuel.

2 weeks ago, had some aftermarket 6 hole nozzles flowed. They were a decent amount larger than our factory i/c nozzles...2 of them flowed less than a factory i/c nozzle and the 6 ranges from 36-48 lpm when they came in. They were even a 135 spray angle to boot.

I have been a little leery on buying non bosch for my crew cab project. The marine pistons I have may make those marine injectors work a little better along with thinner washers.

Speaking of turbos, its a big scam in the aftermarket world. There was an S200 "hybrid" used on some cat diesels. It was an s200 with the .8 A/R housing (14cm) non gated, T3 flange, 4" outlet and a 66mm wheel and ~70mm exhaust wheel. Would be a cheap and extremely effective turbo. It was off a 7.2l cat medium duty motor that was only used for a couple years until they went with a 51mm compressor wheel. Some were gated but had a smaller wheel.

Yeah, I heard some guy that used to sell sub standard Honda parts has now gotten into the diesel Dodge market. Hate to see people spending good money for bad parts because the price is "better"

Just another shady eBay vendor who may or may not be selling the same nozzles that tested poorly for you
