I just tested continuity across the switch and used regulated shop air to test where the setpoint was at. It shouldn't matter which way the power goes through it and you should technically be able to ground anywhere near it that's metallic. As long as your ground straps are maintained between the block, starter, and body any ground would work for a simple switch.
