I have ultralite I's in my truck and hate the lighting on them at night. You can't see them very well. These are the three on my A pillar (Boost, EGT, Trans temp). When I installed my fuel pressure gauge in my overhead console I goofed and got the ultralight II and was so happy I did as it is fully LED back lit and matches the other guages perfectly, except I can see it at night. I would go with all ultralight IIs. You will be much happier.

O-rings for the head. Kinda like the fire rings. I don't think I'll need fire rings since they are most for high performance trucks and I've heard O-rings are basically the step in between fire rings and nothing. I'll heard quite a bit of guys saying they liked them.

If I got the Ultra-Lite Is and put the replacement led bulbs in them, do you think it would be brighter than the regular bulbs? I haven't had a chance to price the Ultra-Lite Is or the led bulbs for them.

So I crunched some numbers for the gauges and it looks like I'll be getting the Ultra-Lite IIs. The totals were pretty close between the IIs and the Is after the led bulbs, etc. I'll be ordering them this weekend along with a few other parts like turbos. 8) Then I gotta wait about a week or so till I get paid and get some quotes on parts. On a side note, the guy I was trying to buy a nice CC off of decided he wasn't going to sell, so I'm back in the hunt.

Just a quick update. Within the past few weeks, some parts have arrived at my house. No pictures yet (trying to convince my folks to get some). Some of the parts include: turbos (hx35 and hx55), LPPLP, gauges, 47rh with assorted hardware and accessories, and few other small nicknacks. I have also sourced a nice clean 85 d250 ccsb that the guy is willing to hold till I get back to the states. Truck only has paint issues and some minor dings. I'll start an actual "build thread" once I pick up the 85.

Just an update with some pics. I'm trying to get a hold of the guy at rollinsmokediesel.com about their military discount. Emailed him a few times in the past few weeks. Anyway, here are the pics.

I've also decided to go with a Ford D60 front and Ford np205 so I can run a 5" turbo back exhaust.

5" exhaust? Might be a little overkill. Ford D60F's are still bringing top dollar, you can get a Dodge NP205 and Dodge D60F for what you'd pay for just the Ford D60F...Just a thought ;)

Could just open it up to 5" after the transfer case...and a Ford D60 has a wider spring pad width...36" IIRC.

Well my thinking is that the Ford D60 is a driver side drop And the Ford NP205 is also a driver side drop. So with the hx55 having a 5" exhaust exit, I think it would be more functional and practical. The Dodge NP205 is a passenger side drop (same side the exhaust runs back  ) so the Ford stuff will open that area up. Also, I want to keep the D60 FF kingpin so I can hopefully rig up a cross-over steering setup.

I know the Ford NP205 isn't going to be a direct bolt up like the 2nd gen NP241HDH. But the NP205 is smaller and will fit inside the frame better with little to no cutting/grinding. There is also a kit to convert it to the Dodge spline count. And thus allows me to run a 5" exhaust. 8) :P

Yea. That's one thing high on the list for this truck. Cleanness (not including mother nature). 8)

not sure if its of any use to you but I'm running a s300, ddp stg2 injectors, pump tweaks, high volume low pressure lift pump and nv4500 swap. i put down 302 hp, 615 tq daily driver and has great street manners. the turbo is new and have not towed with it yet but it was fine( a little warm on steep grades) with the stock hc1

Nice. I'll be running compounds (hx35/hx55), 5x.013 injectors, 7.3 PS IC, Lift pump, and Fuel pump mods. Looking to get between 300-400hp. Where I live, there's lots of steep grades (one reason why I chose compounds).
