I didn't even know you had the trans back together. Looks good though.

Uh, let's see....
I made about 38psi on the hybrid, 32psi on the 62/71-14.
The waste gate was barely opening, I checked when I had the turbo off. I flipped the actuator and adjusted it with the wastegate cover off so it opens fully and not quite hits the cover. It took about 30-35 psi to open it that far, it was hard to tell the way I did it.
Levi, no boost leaks, I wasn't drinking when I welded it. I did forget to tighten the clamp from the steel tube to the adapter boot. It made a cool noise that got my attention when it burped. I tightened everything again since then.
Dunes, I didn't think about wrapping that pipe! :?
I'll check that brace, but it's 1 1/2 inch angle 1/4 inch thick. It's beefier than it looks.
Sutter, I ran a rag thru it to clean out the stuff from welding. It might be a real PITA to run a hone around those corners. ;)
Not any louder than it was with the S300 alone. My mom and the neighbor both say the exhaust is quieter too. :(
Rockbuggy, S300 and a S471.
Andy, yeah, finished that over a month ago and got it in. It doesn't rattle anymore, and 3rd shifts a little better. I'm waiting to see if it gets worse or not. I did find a shifter in the junkyard from a NV4500 gasser 2nd gen. It's about 2-3 inches shorter than the original. It shifts a little quicker and isn't too short like a Dakota one is. ;)

Guys, Thanks for the input! It's been raining here and the temps are going into the 90's tomorrow, so I hope to get the 2nd boost gauge mounted this weekend and run it some more so I can get more numbers. If you guys think of anything else, let me know. I'll post back when I get better readings and some EGT temps.

What are you running for fuel?

They do look sexy, I regret not running mine like that sometimes. I like seeing the primary out on display like that, and you know how much I love silicone 90*s. :D

I also question your fuel, I was able to push 45psi on my 62/65/12 with stock non-IC'd injectors. Never made much more on that turbo with my 5x14's, but I was way over 60psi on twins with a billion exhaust leaks and completely untuned. :?

Way over 60psi Levi? Do you even have a working boost gauge?

Hey.....60 psi is easy when you run stock timing.

It was the only gauge that worked, bungholio. :P

And yes, I did. I just never hooked it all the way up because I didn't feel like drilling my primary cover. It just rode under my wiper for a couple trips. :P

I have yet to hit 60psi. When John had these twins he could hit 60 no problem, at less hp than I. He was concerned, and kept saying something was wrong. Not one drive pressure or boost leak. I finally told him " I'm running way more timing than you ever thought of". It finally clicked with both of us, that timing makes a huge difference.

PToombs I made a wire brush out of mig wire. Then twisted mig wire into a flex like shaft, and pinched it in my cordless drill. This hodge podge hone worked great in the tight bends. After I did what you did, I drug a sweater sleeve through the piping multiple times.

Oh, you meant injectors. New Era 370's, 5 x .012's. I had the fuel screw bottomed out, but backed it off about 2 turns last summer because I could hit 1300* real easy just stepping on it and I was trying to prolong the life of the pump. I could still hit 1300 pretty easy before the twins when it got over 3k rpms.

As for timing, I'm not sure where it's at right now. I had it at 2.25mm of lift, and then backed it down. It may be at 1.65 which is 1/8th of an inch, I'll have to look and see. I was thinking of bumping it back up to 1.85, the guy in the fuel shop said that seems to be the sweet spot for a VE in his experience.

1.85 is titties...........until we are adding more fuel than it can try to burn (garden hose)

You oughta extrude hone them 370s...........then you'll be at 60 psi like deathrod :D (he doesn't have 370s, but the end result would be the same)

I think titties are great! But do you mean that's not enough or too much for what I have?

I like the idea of more fuel, but I need to drive it some and tow the trailer before I add any more fuel. ;)

LOL........it's probably perfect for what you have now. I miss the days where that area of timing was nice..... now it's over advanced here and under advanced there and live with it here and complain there.
