Yeah when he fired it up at the track, sounded good and smelled good to but when he left the line, i was truly impressed.

He tried some smaller lighter tires (30 pound a piece lighter) but couldn't make them hook of the line and got some real bad torque steer at about 60 feet, with then.

I tried to talk him into some drag radials but with all the cash he thrown into that motor and tanny theres nothing left for tires.

He was after a 6.99 1/8 E.T. but until we get a concrete starting pad.....theres no chance.

The tar is so cores that street tire actually grab better the slick, if you can believe that!

I did run my diesel down that track, so when i get my turbo/intercooler installed. I will be able to compare it next year.

the 427 side oiler is what shelby used in alot of the 427 cobras i doubt thats what it it cuz well just a set of the orignal tunnel port shelby heads are worth like 6000 on up and i think to buy one of the shelby side oiler reproduction engines from shelby is like 50 000

i have heard people talk of a 428 side oiler

not the huge 427 (hemi head) motor

but a 428

but you know how people throw around terms so who knows...

if it is really a side oiler you can tell by looking at the block

427? 428? i don't know, but side oiler i do

Also i know is that he's got at least 18,000 in to it and what ever heads he has they were sent out and professional ported.
and the intake had to have some sort of sealing idea figured out because the push rod go directly thru the intake port(My self thinking.......this is a stupid idea.......but it runs)

He's been collecting part and building this motor for almost 5 year and was fired up it's first time this spring.

The truck original intention was to be a tractor puller, then a mud bogger.......then.........well we got this race track open up in our home town and well...........he's hooked on drag racing.

well if it has pushrods through the ports then it is most likely a 427 side oile and those are probably a set of shelby tunnel ports sweet i wonder where he found that stuff

That Ford in Vegas was no doubt Richard Madsens Cummins powered Crew cab. It is around 800-1000rwhp depending on where it is dynoed.
That white Gas Ford needs a bunch more ponies only 86mph in the 1/8th? I am over 93mph in the 1/8th and am shure to be a ton heavier.

Well here i go sticking up for the ford guy again .........

The mile per hour is a guess, the timing equipment has finish line E.T. only.
Were hoping to put 60" and mile per hour sensor in next year...........
