artificial boost

k hears a far feched idea,
what would happen if you put air into ur motor from a compressor, u would need one inch line that went into ur inercooler tube
this would me that u could instancely biuld ?30psi, then ur big turbo would kick in, this would work great on a dyno, but in a drag race u could have a tank thats peloaded to 150psi and have a one inch line going to ur ic tube, with a big dump valve. u ounly need one good blast for 10 seconds, thats about how long it would take a tank with a 1inch line to empty. (im talking about a tank u would find on a big truck)

the volume of air would have to be huge you would need a really really big tank

Compressors are grate to build high PSI, but are vary slow to build the volume. and it would take a lot.

On top of that, the air would want to go both way's and the bad way would try and stall the compressor wheel of the turbo.

there is a big rig drag truck with 6 turbos in diesel power mag and it says somethin about using compressed air to spool up the turbos but not sure how

well i know this sounds stupid, but me and a friend of mine took a toyota cellica and a leaf blower and rigged it up so that we could drive with it on there, and for a redneck turbo, it made somegood power. and it would make the volume part

  a leaf blower
what month was the 6 turbo one in i cant remember, but if u have a one way valve just before the artificial air injection(in patining that name) the air would flow into the motor, you only need a full tank for the strip then u can re fill it, or if u have an electric compressor and only us it when a corvet pulls up u would be in good shape  for the street

A better idea would be to dump compressed air into the exhaust manifold to spool up the turbo just before you dump the clutch. I'd actually like to try that!
